PUBLIC INSTALLATION
Public spaces are the center of my attention. What happens there and how can situations of everyday life turn into staged moments for possible occurrences? By using theatre-elements I create interventions and installations along the boundaries between everyday life and fictional situations.

PETRA SPIELHAGEN (1966, Berlin), lives and works in Berlin, she studied visual arts and stage design at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. Spielhagen exhibited among others: in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at Festival der Regionen Linz, Austria; at the NGBK Berlin; at DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst; in Marseille, France; at Kunstraum Kreuzberg Berlin. She won several grants and prices such as, otte 1 künstlerhaus Eckernförde, Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt art IT, Berlin.; project grant DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst; Artist Residency, Cannes, Frankreich; Hotel Neustadt, Festival, Halle-Neustadt; Project funding, Senate of Cultural Affairs, Berlin; First prize - art competition at Max-Planck-Gesellschaft/ implementation of Wanderndes Lichtfeld for the Fritz-Haber-Institut, Berlin.
